More Than a Mechanic

A Neighbor Who Keeps You On The Water

Image of Marcus Shubert posing on the deck of his personal boat in NaplesMarcus, Owner and Lead Technician of Auserican Industries, was born and raised on the beaches of the Indian Ocean in Western Australia. He met and married a Florida girl, following her around the world to the shores of the Gulf Coast. He brings to Southwest Florida two decades of mechanical experience across a wide range of engines.

His passion for boating kicked into overdrive when he built his own family boat from the hull up, shortly after moving to Naples in 2014. The rest is history. When he’s not working on boats, he’s out on his own (a recently completed 28’ Dusky) with his wife, Caitlin, and their three young children.

Caitlin, CFO and the operations force behind the scenes, grew up on the coastal waterways of SWFL. The daughter of a yacht captain, she’s no stranger to the local maritime scene and understands, better than most, the importance of a quality mechanic—and more importantly, a trustworthy one. When she isn’t wrangling Marcus’s accounts, she’s taxiing their three kids around town, hunting for the perfect shell on Keewaydin, and managing her own full-time job as a Director of Operations for a marketing agency.

Why Choose a Qualified Marine Diesel Mechanic?

Diesel engines are the workhorses of the marine world. Known for their durability, efficiency, and power, they are favored in both recreational and commercial vessels. However, they are also complex machines that require specialized knowledge and diagnostic tools. Here’s why hiring a professional marine diesel mechanic matters:

  1. Expertise and Training
Diesel engines operate differently from gasoline engines. A professional marine diesel mechanic understands the intricacies of fuel injection systems, turbochargers, cooling systems, and more. They are trained to recognize early signs of wear or failure and know how to address them before they become costly or dangerous.

  2. Diagnostic Accuracy
A seasoned marine diesel mechanic uses advanced tools and software to accurately diagnose issues, saving time and avoiding unnecessary part replacements. Guesswork is minimized, which translates to better service and less expense.

  3. Proper Tools and Parts
Marine diesel repair often requires manufacturer-specific parts and precision tools. Professional mechanics have access to the right equipment and maintain relationships with parts suppliers, ensuring faster turnarounds and high-quality replacements.

  4. Compliance with Standards
A certified mechanic ensures your engine repairs and installations meet industry and environmental standards. This is particularly important for emission-controlled waters and when undergoing inspections.

  5. Mobile and Emergency Services
Many experienced marine diesel mechanics offer mobile repair services, coming to your marina, dock, or even out to sea. This convenience can be a game-changer, especially if your boat is stranded or immobile.
